German black ‚ebonized’ case with arched pediment, topped by an urn. Four carvings are emblazing the front glass door’s corners. White enamel chapter ring dial with Roman numerals and plain enamel centre. Iron hands. Grid iron pendulum with in bob inserted enamel disc R – A ( Retard – Avance ).

Trapeziform movement with 8 day spring wound going train only, Graham escapement with adjustable pallets, backplate signed: GUSTAV BECKER FREIBURG IN SCHL around the anchor with crown and GB, MEDAILLE D’OR, 433962 ( serial number ). The Gustav Becker Clockfactory was established in 1847 and went out of business in 1932. As GB produced in 1885 the movement with serial number 500.000. it is to be supposed that this clock was manufactured in 1883 or 1887.
