French Morbier clock of late 19 th. century. Pressed oval shaped brass sheet dial surrounding with two peacocks, flowers and fruits, and pressed brass sheet pendulum with same decorations, peacocks, flowers and fruits and a urn in the pendulum bob centre. Dial sourrounding as well as pendulum are marked: CN DEPOSE ( DEPOSE = protected, meaning that the design of this brass sheets was protected ) CN stands for Carl Neufeld, a German manufacturer of pressed brass sheet items who delivered – and developped to be one of the main suppliers of Morez clock manufacturers – after 1871, presumably until 1914,big quantities of different clock garnitures for Morbier clocks.

8 days string wound and weight driven movement with anchor escapement, half and full hour striking on gong, rack striking system, with repetition of full hour, enamel dial with Roman hour numeral, signed: JACQUET – PERRARD à Moulins.The sirs Jacquet and Perrad were two companions distributing Morbier clocks with the signature of their company.
