French oval shaped tableau clock of late 19 th. century. Black lacquered oval frame with stucco profile. Centre part of brown wood with black inlets and mother-of-pearl marquetry, brass lunette. Alabaster dial with enamel cartouches - Roman numerals in blue colour – on small pressed ornated brass plates. Black steel hands.
8 day spring wound Morez type movement with anchor escapement, half and full hour striking on gong, repetition of hour striking after 2 minutes. A small musical-box movement will start playing 3 different tunes after repetition of strikes.
