German grandfather clock of late 1920 begin 1930 years, streight oak case with pediment, big front door with two bevelled glasses. 8 day chain driven movement with brass shelter weights, half and full hour bim-bam striking on rod gongs, Graham escapement with changeable pallets, sqaure silver colored dial with Arabic numerals, blued simple steel hands. Movement marked on the backplate: P.L. 116 ( Pendulum Lenght 116 cm ), P.S. 60 ( Pendulum Swinging 60 times per minute ). Movement signed on the backplate: F M S in a disc under an eagle which was the sign of: Friedrich Mauthe Schwenningen. The name of Mauthe Clockfactory established in 1844 and went out of business in 1975 belongs to the well known reputated names of Black Forest clockmaking.
