French bronze cartel wall clock in Louis XV. Rococo style case. Heavy casted brass case whose ornemants are modelled as scrolling foliage and ‚c’ scrolls ( rocaille ).

8 day spring wound movement of Paris type with glass cover, half and full hour striking on bell, locking-plate striking system, anchor escapement, white enamel dial with blue Roman hour and Arabic minute numerals, steel pendulum suspension.

Movement marked on back plate:  JAPY FRERES & CIE. MED D’ HONNEUR as well as a production number: 59871 / 52 . Look at: TARDY Dictionnaire Des Horlogers Francais, 1971, pages 324/325.

 Measurements of case:  height x width x depth: approx:   cm x  cm x   cm – weight of clock: 4,2 KG.

This clock was made around 1870/1880

The axle for fine adjustement from the front of the case by turning the square-end above the dial is missing, but this does not prevent this movement to work properly.

We guarantee that other parts of this clock originally fit together, except keys.
